Venue: the Varvarka III cigar club
On January 31, 2023, in the new cigar club VARVARKA III, the Heirs of the 21st Century club embarked upon a series of cigar and music lounges with Alexey Skanavi.
"Everything you wanted to know about the classics, but were afraid to ask."
The first lounge was entitled "Secrets of Musical Symbols."
The musical maestro, performer and host of the evening was Alexey Skanavi – a brilliant pianist, musicologist, music storyteller, classical music promoter, and television and radio host.
Since 1997, Alexey has been actively appearing on radio and television ("Culture", "Moscow. Trust", "Silver Rain", "Orpheus", etc.) as the author and presenter of programs and columns about classical music.
The voice of Alexey Skanavi is well known to the listeners of "Silver Rain", from his famous program "Classics" that was first aired more than 20 years ago.
The first lounge was entitled "SECRETS OF MUSICAL SYMBOLS", in which guests learned to read and decode hidden motifs in classical music.
In addition to the beauty of the harmonies themselves, composers sometimes fill their works with all kinds of extra-musical meanings, which listeners can learn to identify and read if they wish. Rhetorical figures, alphabetic codes, leitmotifs, "themes of Fate", quotes, and many other hidden or more obvious symbols are concealed in world masterpieces – Alexey Skanavi explained all about this during the evening.
VARVARKA III is a unique multi-function area that comprises a restaurant, a wine boutique and a cigar club.
A place for true connoisseurs of thoughtful and intelligent conversations, tranquility and comfort, delicious cuisine and a cozy atmosphere all under one roof.

The author of the idea and curator of the project is Mila Zhurova.
